Organic curved seating solution made from stainless steel and HDPE recycled plastic battens.
545 St Kilda Rd, Melbourne VIC 3004
PROJECT INFO
The curved bench seating system for the new Paula Fox Melanoma and Cancer Centre was the highlight of 2023. This complex seating solution dealt with varying site levels around a twist curved design. Not a single straight section in sight. The frames to the seating were manufactured in mild steel and hot dipped galvanised while the top seating sections were made out of 316 stainless steel. A unique manufacturing method was utilised to use the recycled white and grey HDPE batten and cladding material to complete the vision of Rush Wright architects. Surrounded by some lovely civil and landscaping works by Kane Constructions, this unique design fits perfectly with the aesthetic of the new building.
